Relief camp
Hulhumale
Rep of Maldives
Dear David Hardingham,
Founder member
Maldives aid
I am a victim of tsunami, living in hulhumale’ relief camp. In my family, we have eight members, in which I am the second.
I completed my O’Levels in my home island in 2004.i was aiming to go top as I can, but unfortunately, the disaster of tsunami had ruined my family home in my island. This prevented me from further education because my father is the only one who works in my family. After the disaster, we were forced to flee from our island to somewhere that was unfamiliar to us. We faced many troubles at that time, sometimes we used to go here and there to get some food, and this was the most horrible time of my life which I ever spent in my entire life.
When, we came to hulhumale’, I got a chance to join A’Level in CHSE, which is one of the high standard secondary school in Maldives. But my family could not afford that much of money instead; they planned for me to go to one of islands to complete my A’Levels.
But to my luck, I got aid from your charity which is helpful, people like us who are willing and aiming to be professionals, but unable to co lour our dreams. Truly you have helped me a lot. I could not express how happy I am, because your organization showed me a way to enrich my further studies.
I am very pleased about your kind donation. On behalf of my family members especially from me, I thank you very much and convey best greetings from us. May god shower your organization his blessings and bestow with all the happiness and success.
Your’s sincerely
Laila Khalid
