UK Celebrity couple visits Maldives Aid desalinisation plant in Filladhoo
Maldives Aid and the island community of Filladhoo welcomed Michelle Heaton and Andy Scott-Lee, a UK celebrity couple spending their honeymoon in the Maldives. The couple arrived from Island hideaway resort to Filladhoo and were welcomed by the local school staff and Maldives Aid Coordinator Mariyam Seena.
The couple was given a tour of the Island and were shown the desalinisation plant donated by Maldives Aid and the school building donated by UNDP with a staff building, toilets and a library to which Maldives Aid donated books.
The couple planted trees provided by the school in the school garden severely damaged by the Tsunami. They first planted a coconut tree, to start the small ceremony and later Andy and the school boys planted more coconut trees while Michelle and the school girls planted flower trees.
A small ceremony was held with the couple and the school children. At last Andy and Michelle visited the houses ruined by the Tsunami. A film crew was following the event which will be broadcasted in UK soon.
